A New Chicken Farm for Better Nutrition: A Milestone for the Uganda Project
Thanks to generous donations, we have been able to set up a small chicken farm with 50 hens as part of our Uganda project. The building costs of €1,100 were covered by committed donors – a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this project possible!
The new chicken farm is a big step towards food security for our children. The children now get fresh eggs regularly, which clearly improves their diet. This valuable source of protein means not only better health but also more variety on the menu.
Building the chicken farm was a joint effort. Staff and children worked hand in hand to make the coop safe and practical. For the children, though, the chicken farm is much more than a place where food is produced – they are thrilled and delighted with the new animals and the daily egg collecting.
What is especially valuable is that the children get to lend a hand in caring for the chickens themselves. They learn to take responsibility: feeding the hens, cleaning the pens and collecting the eggs. These practical tasks build their sense of responsibility and create a feeling of belonging to the community.
Our chicken farm is another small step towards sustainable self-sufficiency and a better future for the children. Together we can achieve even more – every gift counts!
