In short: If you want to donate to children in Uganda, your donation to Get It Done goes straight to Bwembe on Lake Victoria. There the charity runs a day school with a children’s home for over 300 children: 12 teachers and 48,100 m² of its own land with fields, a drinking-water well and a chicken farm. The charity is run entirely by volunteers, and 100% of donations go to the children.
Your donation goes to Get It Done’s association account in Austria and from there to the project in Bwembe, a village right on Lake Victoria in Uganda. On the ground, Pastor David leads the work. The money covers the running costs of the day school and children’s home: teachers’ salaries, food, clothes, school supplies and hygiene items. Larger donations make building projects possible, most recently the new 163 m² school building.
What is needed right now is always shown on the home page under “What we currently need”. In September 2026 that is €100 a month for teachers’ salaries, €100 a month for a seamstress’s salary for the girls, and a one-off €1,000 to start growing coffee.

It all started in 2023: the founders flew to Uganda, bought 30,000 m² of land by Lake Victoria and opened a children’s home with a school and fields. Since then a lot has been added step by step: seven Christian teachers in February 2024, a 30-metre-deep drinking-water well in May 2024, a chicken farm in November 2024 and our own Bible and vocational school in July 2025.
Since October 2025 a new 163 m² school building has been going up: the roof has been on since December 2025, windows and doors since April 2026. Today the charity owns 48,100 m² of land. You can see every step with dates and photos in the milestones.
Get It Done was started by two family men from Austria: Bernd Broschek (chairman) and Marco Caltagirone (deputy chairman). They founded the association in Schwaz in March 2024; it is listed in the Austrian register of associations under ZVR number 1305936119. In Uganda, Pastor David leads the work on the ground. Before you donate, a quick check is worth it. A trustworthy charity has a registration number you can look up, a complete legal notice and contact people with names. It shows specific projects with dates and photos instead of just general images, is open about what things cost and does not pressure you. Feel free to ask if anything is unclear – an honest organisation will answer.

No. Get It Done is not registered as a tax-privileged charity with the Austrian Ministry of Finance, so you cannot deduct your donation from your taxes. In return it goes straight to the project in Bwembe without passing through a large organisation, and the charity has no paid administration.
Yes – the easiest way is a standing order to the association account. Regular donations are especially valuable to Get It Done because the teachers have to be paid every month: as early as 2024, half of the teachers’ salaries were covered by donors’ standing orders. There is no fixed sponsorship programme with a monthly amount – a standing order helps all the children together.
Get It Done shows every larger purchase as its own post with photos on this website, from the chicken farm to the doors for the toilets.
